What does one do when everyone vanishes?
How does one handle it?

One might decide to start looking.
Look for survivors, the cause, something to busy oneself with. Maybe start a doll collection... No one, or very few, left to laugh at you for it.

There HAS to be others left... You were nothing special...

A game where nothing is happening metaphorically.

THINGS YOU CAN DO IN THIS GAME:

Things that I like about the game:

  • When I was playing the game, I felt like you were having fun adding goofy dialogues and sharing your thoughts with the players using your own character, Ara. Something not a lot of people do specially not in horror game. So, it’s a unique and different take on the horror game genre. For your first game project this is something to really take note in how I can develop my own game as well.

  • I also like the easter eggs you put in your game and the method of crediting was unique as well so that was also a plus thing to be proud of in your game.

  • I like how the horror aspect of the game went down hell the moment I put on the banana outfit xD. I really had some much fun using it I felt it was a crime so I changed it to play the game normally after a while.

  • I really like the death cutscene there wasn't much of them in the game but when you can actually see something happening it was something.

  • The menu screen image and music fit each other. Some people might see having no music at the beginning of the game to be boring but having no music emphasis the emptiness of the world.

  • the overall look of the game unique I really like how you managed to do all the assets in the game from the character design to the background, writing, programming, and the creature voices. Most of the time I see people reuse some assets that already in the game. So, for a free game that just so much content already.

  • The different areas and puzzles were ok. Not too difficult and not too easy as well. I like how some puzzle can be solved by guessing the number when you don't know what it means.

  • I like how the game wasn’t that empty there was sounds effects of your footsteps on the grass and other sound effects. The universe wasn’t empty you were accompanied by character at some point in the game and you see scary creatures as well.

  • A good thing that I like about the game is that you have some objectives, and you don’t just walk around aimlessly trying to figure out what you must do. I also want to thank you for having a save at anytime there were some bugs and without saving I wouldn’t have been able to recover from them instantly.

Things that I think could be improved:

  • I got stuck at some point of the game because I might have skipped some dialogues. It could have been avoided if the game somehow tells you what you need to do from the screen or talking to the other character.

  • The ship was confusing because I didn’t know where the doors are so it took a long time to find the doors at the left and the right maybe if there was a rug or an arrow pointing in the direction of the door It would be easier to see that these places you can go to them.

  • When liked how you have different outfit you can wear, it’s a shame that you couldn’t see Ara wearing them in the game dialogue. But I guess that would be a lot of extra work for a free game.

  • When I looked in the bonus area at the cutscene I felt it’s a shame that I didn’t see them being implemented in the game. But I guess that also too much work.

  • There are so many areas that hint you will return to them, but you really don’t return to them which somehow give false hype but maybe that was just part of the story.

  • The beginning was great but once we reach nearly toward the end things suddenly started to become too sudden and too mysterious. I know it is part of the twists of the writer to change things but the way it was done made it just unclear how did things changed. We didn’t know a lot about the villain other than was given to us via exploring their domain. There is so many questions. I don’t know if it was intended for a sequel to be answered or was just placed to add more mysteries in top of mysteries.

  • The ending was anti-climactic it felt too sudden, and I wish we known a little bit more about the villain that we had an objective to do.

What I would expect if there was sequel for the game:

  • I would love to see a sequel for this game that explore more about the characters like, what happened to that character you meet at the beginning of the game. what is the plan of Ara now? how can she explore other areas now that character that helped her  was gone.

  • How did Ara meet the guy you meet at the bonus room? you explore more on that area of how they met.

  • Maybe reuse some of the assets that you already haven't used in the sequel. In a dream sequence maybe, this is just a thought. or you could recycle them in the new game.

  • Improve the look of Ara idk if that will happen or you will just keep it the same if you want.

  • Explore more in the horror aspect but still keep it light horror. but if you want to go full horror that's acceptable too it's your game and you should do what you like with it.

  • Maybe reexplore some of the old places. I like games that give you that option. Find out more about the area that she wanted to explore.

  • Learn more about her story before all  happened. how was her life is like. Did she have a family, friends she cared about.

  • Dealing with a new villain and new worlds to explore.

  • Add little bit of cool puzzles.

  • More music themes. I really like the music with the guy we see at the bonus room. It sets the mood for the scene and story.

  • I wonder what kind of cool twists there will be.

I hope my review was somewhat useful to you in improving your next games.

I will try and give my review on your other games once I play them if you want and good luck with whatever you going to do next.
